Teaching makeup revealed something important: people were not coming to YOONSI simply to decorate their faces. Guests who arrived to learn about color and line would drink tea, share their stories, laugh and cry, and often meet a part of themselves beyond concerns about appearance.
Yet putting the heart into words can also be tiring. YOONSI wanted to find a way that required neither explanation nor achievement. A time to put screens and notifications aside, and focus only on yourself through the warmth of tea, the scent of aroma, music and water, the touch of caring hands, and an easy breath. This is how Head Spa became part of YOONSI: rest experienced lying down, much like meditation.
This is not a time to force the past away or avoid worries about the future. It is a time to quietly notice that attachments to what has passed and concerns about days yet to come are both present within us, then return for a while to the sensations of now.
Makeup and Head Spa, tea and aroma, conversation and silence are not separate things. Everything is connected in one flow: seeing and valuing yourself before trying to change yourself. To YOONSI, self-realization is not a grand accomplishment. It begins with respecting who you are now and choosing for yourself the person you want to become and the life you want to live.
A time when it is all right to do nothing. A time that leaves you feeling deeply rested and truly cared for. Your thoughts may become clear, or you may drift to sleep without thinking at all. YOONSI offers each guest a pause in which to recover their senses, return to everyday life, and look forward to the next visit.
